Join us for the Portumna 10km Run on 15th March 2026, an exciting event set in the heart of Portumna, Co. Galway. This scenic race will take you through the stunning Portumna Forest Park, where you'll enjoy lush greenery and peaceful trails.
Along the route, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the River Shannon, passing the marina and including a stretch along the newly developed Blueway. As you run, you'll also have the historic Portumna Castle and Abbey in your view, adding a touch of heritage to this beautiful course.

Sign in at the Muscle Mill will open at 9am and close at 11am sharp. We need to adhere to these times so we do not hold up closing off roads for any longer than necessary.You will be given your t-shirt and race pack at sign in. Make sure you sign in early enough to have time to leave anything back to your car that you might want to.
Parking will be available at Portumna Mart, Portumna Library/playground area, and along town streets. There will be no parking at the main square as that is where the race finishes.
Juniors 1k race starts 11:30 sharp. Meet at Muscle Mill at 11:15 to walk to start line. It's a 200m walk.
Seniors 10k starts at 12:00 sharp at Muscle Mill.
You may run, walk, or a combination of both for the 1k or the 10k race. The main thing is that you enjoy it.

After race refreshments available to purchase from vendors in the town square.
A donation from the race will be made to Portumna Transition Year musical. Any other money raised will be given to the Portumna Events Committee to continue putting on high quality family-friendly events in Portumna, such as St Patrick's Day Parade, Fairies and Scaries in the forest, etc.
