A Summer of Events Awaits in Portumna!

It's all happening in Portumna this summer.

The Portumna Chamber of Commerce is delighted to present an exciting programme
of community events throughout June, July and August, offering something for
everyone to enjoy.

The season continues on 18th June with a fascinating Walking History Tour of
Portumna Priory led by renowned historian Dr. Christy Cunniffe. On 20th June, the
ever-popular Wild Food Mary returns to Portumna Forest Park to share the secrets
of forest foraging for adults and children alike.

On 5th July, St. Patrick's Street comes alive with a vibrant Street Market,
showcasing local artisan food and craft producers, alongside the official launch of the
town's new sound system funded through GRD/LEADER.

July promises to be particularly busy, with the GAEL FORCE Lake Swimming
Competition on 11th July, bringing 650 swimmers to Portumna. The Chamber's
accompanying Water & Wellness Day will feature yoga, tai chi, kayaking, pedalos,
cruises, live music, family entertainment and much more. The following day, 12th
July, Portumna Castle hosts a spectacular Medieval Pageantry Festival, complete
with combat displays, Viking forgers, jesters, entertainers and family fun.

Music lovers can look forward to the internationally acclaimed African Gospel
Choir performing in St. Bridget's Church on 26th July, joined by the wonderful St.
Bridget's Choir.

The summer season concludes on 8th August with the Portumna Publicans Street
Busking Competition, where aspiring Ed Sheerans and talented performers will
compete for cash prizes while transforming the town into a lively street festival.
