Portumna Christmas Lights Shine Bright to Begin the Festive Season

The spirit of Christmas arrived in Portumna in wonderful style as the town’s Christmas lights were officially switched on, drawing families and friends together for an evening full of festive magic.

Crowds gathered in the heart of the town to enjoy music, seasonal treats and the excitement of counting down to the big moment. When the lights finally sparkled to life, Portumna was transformed into a glowing winter scene, met with cheers from children and adults alike.

The event, organised with the support of Portumna Chamber of Commerce and local volunteers, once again highlighted the strong community spirit that makes the town so special. Local performers added to the atmosphere with festive songs, while businesses stayed open late to welcome visitors and spread Christmas cheer.

Chairperson of the Chamber Eoin Lynch thanked everyone involved:
