Pride of Place 2026

Nomination : Portumna Tidy Towns is thrilled to announce that Portumna has been officially nominated to represent County Galway in the prestigious IPB National Pride of Place Awards 2026.

This nomination is a massive honour for Portumna. It recognizes the immense community spirit, hard work, and dedication that make the town such a wonderful place to live, work, and visit.

The national Pride of Place judging panel will arrive in Portumna on Monday, August 31st. The judges will go on an official tour of the town and visit tourist sites from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

To make a lasting impression and gain valuable points the organising committee respectfully ask all residents, business owners, and community groups to support Portumna by ensuring the town looks its absolute best on the day. The aim is to ensure Portumna remains a welcoming, friendly, attractive and vibrant place to live and visit for both current and future generations. The national Pride of Place results will be announced on October 24th at an event in Dublin.
